The countdown to AIR’s Next Generation Models has begun! We will be releasing a Technical Preview for a subset of Next Generation Models (NGM) starting in 2021, with a full rollout across all models coming in 2022.

During this online seminar, the architects of AIR’s Next Generation Models will discuss our new modeling approach for commercial lines of business. AIR Principal Scientist Dr. Rafał Wójcik will explain our new methodology for capturing the secondary uncertainty in our damage estimates and how AIR’s next generation modeling framework accounts for coverage correlation when accumulating losses. AIR AVP of Product Development Ivelin Zvezdov will share how we will support new insurance terms and policy conditions to provide more realistic loss estimates.

Ivelin Zvezdov, M.Phil. CPMP

Ivelin Zvezdov is a financial economist by training with experience in quantitative analysis and risk management for (re)insurance and natural catastrophe modeling. In 2006 he joined AIR Worldwide as Manager for Statistical Analysis and Numerical Models and has led the product development effort of AIR’s next generation modeling platform since 2013. He holds an M.A. in Economics from St. Andrews University, UK, and an M.Phil. from the University of Oxford, UK.

Raf Wojcik, Ph.D.
Senior Principal Scientist

Dr. Rafal Wojcik is a Manager and Senior Principal Scientist in AIR's Research and Modeling group and manages the Financial and Uncertainty Modeling group. He has been involved in developing fast convolution algorithms for aggregating spatially correlated losses. He also designs both Monte-Carlo and convolution-based integration schemes for complex financial terms. Rafal received his M.S in Environmental Systems—Math Modeling from Warsaw Agricultural University and his Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from Warsaw Agricultural University/Wageningen University with a minor in Applied Statistics.
